Jingan’s explosive new play LIFE AND DEATH OF A JOURNALIST will run in 2020 at the acclaimed VAULT FESTIVAL in South London in The Cage from Feb 25 – Mar 1 for 7 performances. The play is directed by Max Lindsay and stars actor/writer Lucy Roslyn stars as LAURA, a journalist who is forced to question her position in an increasingly censored world. It places a forensic spotlight on Chinese media interference in the UK and examines sex, censorship and journalism from a female perspective.

The Guardian said, “Lucy Roslyn is extraordinary as Laura, a journalist reporting on China’s grip over Hong Kong in Jingan Young’s intensely smart play grappling with the ethical complexity of political journalism. Max Lindsay’s direction doesn’t waste a second; rapid dialogue spins us deliriously and scene changes blur nights out with the blaring haze of protests. No time to catch your breath. Fighting for the right to free speech, this fierce political play prickles with intelligence and anger.”

Named as Top Picks in The Stage and British Theatre.com.
